DEPPA/HIRST BAND (LIVE) - Band on stage around 3pm, performing 2 live sets This new lineup has been working together for the last year, having just finished recording a new album "Beyond Bahula" which was released in June 2024. It consists of 8 original tracks written by Clare and Claude. Spanning influences from Abdullah Ibrahim and Julian Bahulah to Ornette Coleman and beyond, the band is high energy and the township grooves will have the audience jumping to their feet. Our guest teacher in the main room will be everyone's favourite Peruvian from Nottingham Bruna Salsa Comacho who will be warming us up with a bachata lesson for the night. Justine, Tony and Dave wellington will be looking after the Kizomba dancers with a lesson and music that is always top level. Beginners will be ably looked after by Justin Alexander Gayle with his usual untiring enthusiasm. We have a large regular crowd that support us time and time again.
