All good stuff JD and at last a sensible counter to my argument! One that does give me food for thought as to how to deal with this intractable problem and one based on a sound business model with some obvious evidence of success.

Of course you are based in London and not a smaller provincial town and you must know there is a real difference between the two. However I think you have made a good case. I also think that PaulSS has a good system which I myself will most likely adopt as it possibly more relevant to nights that attract 100 to 200 people rather 500 to 1000 ... I countered pauls original post with the 'BAN UM' stance to shake a few into realising the damage they bring about and understand that it is a serious problem even though they hate to admit that they are responsible, though I think they are in truth a lost cause. However I'm sure they have made no friends on this forum with the illogical economic arguments they've put forward and their failure to answer a few relevant questions ... Good luck with your business, not that you need it as it sounds like you've got it worked out for where you are!
